Free High School Education

S.E.R.V.E.  Foundation,  Inc. -        A Service Provider with a Mission

S.E.R.V.E. (Skills, Education are Relevant Values for Empowerment) Foundation, Inc. was established in March 2004.  From a very humble beginning and scarce finances, the organization plowed into public service by giving another chance to the out-of-school youths, school drop-outs and even adult school leavers by offering them free education. Its prime mission is to help these under-privileged sector finish their secondary education for FREE through the non-formal education or presently known as the Alternative Learning System - Accreditation & Equivalency (ALS-A&E) Program of the Department of Education, Bureau of Alternative Learning System. Since 2004, with the participation Pillar of Truth Christian Church and through the partnership with an LGU, Barangay Sto. Domingo, in Cainta, Rizal, Philippines, the organization has empowered more than three hundreds out-of-school youths and school leavers.

 Who We Are

We are a non-stock, non-profit organization, born out of love for the under-privileged and out-of-school youth. In our desire to help, we opened our doors to welcome anyone, young and old alike, most especially those who cannot afford, who desired to finish their secondary education. We cleared our garage and the empty facade of our rented house and made it into a more productive place ---a small classroom--- a place for those who are in dire need of an education.

We desired to be an agent of change and be able to help transform the lives of these school-leavers. We taught them of what life is, gave them hope and renewed strength to widen and brighten their paths towards better changes in their lives and their families by providing them FREE Alternative Education (Non-Formal Education).

Established and founded in March 2004 with a meager operational budget coming from the incomes of the founders (husband and wife), we gained the respects of the out-of-school youths in our place by inspiring them to continue with their hopes and dreams, and to their parents, we asked them to help us make these dreams come true. Twenty young bright minds and seven adult school leavers answered our first call. Now, after almost a decade of public service, we are proud to say that we have brought changes, better changes, to the lives of more than 300 out-of-school youths and adult school leavers, who took part in our free educational program given every school year.

On the first year (2004), a partnership with a local government unit (LGU) - Barangay Sto. Domingo in Cainta, Rizal was done. On that year, twenty seven (27) young minds and adults graduated. On the second year (2005), 35 out-of-school youths finished; 30 in 2006, 34 in 2007, 30 in 2008, 29 in 2009, 23 in 2010-2011, and  11 in batch October 2011. In school year, 2011-12 batch, 20 learners finished, and this year, 2013, another 20 learners are graduating.

Some of our earlier graduates have already finished college education and now are working either in other countries or in big corporations. Others, especially batch 2009-2010, batch 2010-2011 and October batch 2011 are now enrolled in different colleges. (See their graduation pictures in the Albums). Those who still cannot afford to continue their college education, got better employment opportunities. In the last batch (2009-2010), two (2) students were on full scholars, sponsored by the school they attended, while 14 of them are on half-scholarship. In the October 2011 batch, 3 graduates were on full scholarship.

In School Year 2011-2012, despite of the hand-to-mouth existence in finances, we have moved forward with our mission and vision carrying an ardent hope that this public service can continue year after year without fail. We were able to graduate 11 hardworking students and some are now enrolled in colleges.

This school year 2012-2013 will be our 10th year of public service. Twenty Eight (28) students are enrolled, two of which are in the elementary level. We embraced this elementary learners because of their age (sixteen to twenty-four), and willingness to finish school. They said, they are ashamed to go back to school as elementary students. After giving them the entrance exam, we found out that despite their long years of being out-of-school, yet they were able to get a good grade and even bested some high school drop-outs.

We are still pursuing our goal despite of so many hindrances. We firmly believe that AS LONG AS THERE ARE INDIVIDUALS WITH KIND AND LOVING HEARTS WHO WILLINGLY EXTEND SUPPORT AND HELP, year after year, another set of under-privileged out-of-school youths can get their second chance to finish their high school education for free.

True to our statement and call, WE NEED YOUR HELP SO THAT WE CAN GIVE HELP.

Having this in mind, we are asking all kind individuals for help so that we can also give help to others. Please continue the "Parable of a Good Samaritan",  Luke 10:33-37. Help us in our Fund Raising Drive.

And to all who opened their hearts and offered their help, we say deep in our hearts, THANK YOU AND THANK YOU SO MUCH! We will make sure your help will go a long, long way!
